I did kind of pig out last night as I watched the Super Bowl.
But I had planned to, so I'm OK with it.
So does anyone have any tips on how to deal with a post-party pigout? Do you try and eat a little better during the week to combat bad eating on the weekend? What's the best thing to do?

Amy,
There's no real good strategy for breaking training and going on a beer-and-onion ring binge. It's going to take it's toll, so the only real solution is to go to the gym six days during a week like that (Superbowl, Christmas, T-giving) and add another 10 minutes to your workout.
How much weight have you lost? Do you weigh yourself at the start of every workout, as I do?
That's what I was afraid of. I guess there really is no substitute for exercise.
But for better or worse, I know I've got to let myself live a little too. So I'm trying to think in terms of moderation.
I'm not going to weigh myself every day. So I'm not sure if I've gained or lost weight these past few days.
I'll probably limit myself to weighing in about once a week. I think I could get a little obsessed if I weighed myself too often.
Anonymous - Do you find that weighing yourself every day before work outs keeps you focused?
I don't know about losing the party pounds, but I've found two great ways to detox after the holidays or a major eating event.
There's an excellent, and really simple, recipe for leek soup in Mireille Guiliano's "French Women Don't Get Fat" book. It's wonderful to use over the course of a few days - usually with one more substantial meal per day, like fish or grilled chicken.
The other great - but expensive - way to start over is by doing a juice fast. But that works best if you're juicing fruits and vegetables yourself instead of buying juice.
I haven't had any problem working out on the first detox plan - but doing at least five hours a week of exercise on the juicing plan can be sort of difficult.
