As Dawn posted, it seems many trainers and fitness types recommend getting not only cardio but some weight training in too.
So what kind of exercise routines seem to work for you all out there? A combo of cardio and weights? Do you do them on separate days or the same days?
I've been focused on doing cardio, but I'm going to try and get into the weight training a little bit. A friend is giving me a lesson on using the weight machines at the gym so I don't look like a total moron trying to figure it all out.

Personally I do about 30 minutes of cardio and then about 4 machines. Since I go everyday I switch out the 4 machines every other day to work upper body one day and lower body the next. Otherwise I'm too sore the next day to work the same body part. Since I'm not hardcore I really like using Fitlinx or Schwinn systems if they are on the machines. Helps me see progress and aids motivation.
I believe it's usually recommended to have a "recovery" day after a weights workout. I've also done the upper/lower body switchoff to save time.
Yep, I do the upper body weights on Monday, Wednesday, Friday and the lower body weights on Tuesday, Thursday.
Weight training is very important, and very helpful when trying to lose weight, fit muscles burn fat better and faster. It will kick up your metabolism too. In between some of my cardio I do a quick circuit on the weight machines, nothing too heavy-not trying to build bulk, but burn fat. Then I go back to some cardio before stretching. Losing a pound a week!
